The North of England Medico-Legal Society is an association of members of the legal and medical professions for the promotion of mutual information and professional understanding.

Membership is welcomed from:

  • All members of the legal, medical, dental and veterinary professions.
  • All those professionally qualified in professions with an interest in medico-legal issues.
  • Students studying for admission to these professions.
  • Academics and students in university departments of law, medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.

The Society currently holds four academic meetings per year. These are normally held in Lecture Theatre F in the Medical/Dental School Building in Framlington Place, Newcastle upon Tyne at 7.00pm, with drinks from 6.30pm, on the first Mondays of:

  • October
  • December
  • February
  • April [date may vary to avoid Easter]

[A glass of wine or Fruit juice is available for attendees from 6.30pm.]

Also, there are two social meetings:

  • Annual Black Tie Dinner [usually in November]
  • Annual Summer Supper Party [usually in June]

 

UNDERGRADUATE PRIZES

The Society awards annual prizes to undergraduate students studying at:

Newcastle University Dental School                                   Northumbria University Faculty of Law.

Newcastle University Medical School                                 Sunderland University Law School

Newcastle University Faculty of Law                                  Tees University Law School
